-------Boston---------

As you can see, I am not much of a blogger. I don't really know HOW to blog, and I am a little bit boring when I do so! Plus, I sometimes feel like there isn't anything worthy to blog about . These are the reasons why I have a total of 3 posts so far! So, to those who care to read, I apologize for not blogging frequently, and when I do-if they are boring :)

Update since July 27th- I started school @ Troy University getting my masters degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. This keeps me pretty busy, and I have been required to read more than I ever thought possible.
Doug has gone to SERE school (for those who don't know, its *basically* a 3 week course that gives him training in the case that he ever gets captured while at war). We are not able to talk while he is gone, but he will be back in a couple weeks. We still have not heard word about his waiver for flight school, it may be another month or two. He would absolutely KILL me if he knew I was posting this picture of him, but he can't kill me right now-and I thought it was funny! He is such a goof!!

Since I have been on my lonesome, I decided to meet my friend Molly in Boston for a couple days. She is going to med school in Vermont, so it seemed like a good place to meet. We had a great time! We went out to eat at many tasty restaurants, ate a lot of desserts, visited Harvard Square, Chinatown/Little Italy, Museum of Natural History, toured the city, and did I mention eat good food??

Ok, this picture below has a story for it. *WARNING* a rather long story and possibly boring!!

We were sitting on a bench here watching kayaks, boats, and runners go by. It was a beautiful day and we were relaxing enjoying the weather in Boston. Well actually, Cambridge. Anyways, there was a group of scary guys that started a fight behind our bench. One guy had a tree branch, the other a bike lock (round bar). The tree branch dude kept screaming "HIT ME, JUST DO IT, HIT ME!" and we were a little scared a gruesome fight was about to occur so we moved to a nearby bench where we could still watch the fight without getting killed. The bike lock man (who we are about 95% sure he was homeless) never ended up hitting the tree branch guy so the fight soon ended and they all went on there way, we thought. A little while later, we saw this other man in pajamas and yellow shoes come out of no where and we looked back to see him throw a backpack and start punching the living daylights out of this bag on the ground. We thought "man, Boston has some people with MENTAL cases around here!! Why is he hitting that bag??" We ignored it and watched the yellow shoed man huss and fuss and eventually run away. We then heard a man whistle down some cops. We soon came to discover that this "bag" that the yellow shoed man was hitting was actually the bike lock homeless man from the previous fight. He was laying face down on the sidewalk, and was severely beaten. Luckily when Molly & I showed up (med student and nurse, the only people w/ any medical background) he was breathing, but couldn't move his legs. The cop wanted to roll him over but we advised him not to. The paramedics got there pretty quickly *thank goodness* and he was still unable to move. We were then interviewed by the police. We sure hope the poor homeless man is okay. We'll never know I guess. Long story! Crazy experience, one we will never forget I'm sure.
