We've been living in Fort Rucker for a couple of weeks now and have had a great time so far. Everyone has been very nice. We are living in a home on post and have been doing a lot of unpacking and fixing up the place.
We somewhat felt like we were living in a state hospital when we first moved in (white walls!) so we decided to paint. It looks a lot better and we had a lot of fun!
Finished living room after painting
The bugs and animals have also been very warm and made themselves welcome to our home! I wish I would have taken some good pictures of the milipede infestation we had. I was too grossed out to pull out the camera I suppose. They took over our backyard and at one point covered the hole wall so that it looked black. Everywhere we went they were following us around like little pets! Ugh. We still find about 10-15 a day crawling around on our floor, but the numbers decrease everyday. Our neighbors seem to have the same problem, except their young baby will pick them up and eat them! We have stocked up with Raid and had pest control come and spray around our house. Hope it works!Well hope you enjoy the little update of our lives here in the good ol' south. I will hopefully figure out how to work this blog a little bit better in the future. Happy Mother's Day!

Pretty quilt on the back of your couch! How did it go over? I am glad you are all settled, and glad you are the one with the bugs instead of me, cause I know who would be eating them at our house.....
ReplyDeleteBTW- that was me up above.... Sherie was signed in lol!
ReplyDeleteOh gross Katie!!!! Those bugs are disgusting! We have just a small problem with ants and I get grossed out with those. But a black wall from milipedes????? SICK SICK SICK!
ReplyDeleteYour living room looks so cute and homey. I wish I had a homey place to live...
Glad you're blogging now. Keep it up (Unless it's posting pictures of more milipedes. Did I mention those are SICK?!!)
Wow it's nice to finally hear what you two are up to! Alabama?! Sounds fun (except for those nasty bugs) Your house looks really cute! Are you working out there?
ReplyDeleteI can't believe they set you up in a house!! My heck, that is so cool. Do you have the whole place to yourselves? Sounds like you guys are doing great down there in Alabama! Doug said you might be heading to the beach soon! no fair. Let me know how beautiful it is. Hopefully we can come see you guys sometime soon...
ReplyDeleteNadar, I love the house! I remember you saying a while ago you were a crumby decorater and I call BS on that one. Your house is so cute! Slash, sick sick sick I would die if I had a bug infestation at my house. After I see a bug and then go to bed I swear I either dream about bugs or feel like a bug is crawling on me. Thanks heaven for raid and pest conrol eh!? Glad your doing good and keep the posts coming!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute place! Glad you're having a great time in Alabama. Good luck with the bugs! Love you both!
ReplyDeleteWe're glad that you're settling in. In a couple of months that will be us again. Painting makes it feel warmer, except now I am faced with having to paint them back to their original color. Oh well, it was worth it.
ReplyDeleteCute cute house. I'm sorry about the bugs though. I would freak out.
