Summer Fun!

We have had a lot of fun these past couple of months (hence, no blog postings!) Doug is still waiting to see if he can get pushed through to start flight school. He put in a waiver July 10th and they said it should take at least a month, so we are waiting until at least August 10th! I have been working on my application to Troy University for their Family Nurse Practitioners program. I will turn it in soon and will also hope for good news!

In June we made a trip to Idaho for a family reunion. We had a great time. We were surprised when about half of the family got food poisoning at the reunion. I got it first, Doug didn't get it at all! We still haven't discovered what it was. Aside from that, we had a lot of fun spending time with family and friends. Sadly, I only took one picture, this is at Bear Lake.

July 18th I ran a 5k with my good friend Lorie Stockton. It was called a Critter Run in Dothan, AL. We were proud that we finished it without walking!

I also made a trip to Birmingham to go to the Temple. We traveled about 3.5 hours to find out that the temple was not open! There just so happened to be a temple worker there that was kind enough to give us a personal tour of the small temple. That made it worth the trip.

Doug & I also made a trip to Valdosta, GA where we met up with his brother and his family. We went to a theme park called Wild Adventures that had a lot of "regular" rides like roller coasters and also a water park. It was a lot of fun and we were very happy to spend time with family! By the way, I cannot upload these pictures upright for the life of me!

And last but not least, this wouldn't be the Foote's blog if we didn't post something about Doug's recent creature encounters. This is a picture of a spider he found in our backyard forest.

  9. That was so fun! And that is the scariest spider ever!!! We had a "pet" spider like that when we lived on post, he just wouldn't leave his spot above the garbage can, his name was Floyd. :) I hope you guys are doing good! Thanks for being such good friends! Hopefully we'll get stationed at the same post again soon.
